 Dear Valued Customer,

TNT Service Update – Queensland Flood Disaster
Wednesday, 12 January 2011

TNT’s operations in south east Queensland continue to be severely affected by the ongoing flood disaster with service interruptions expected throughout the State.

Brisbane Operations
Currently, TNT anticipates that all Brisbane operations for our Road, Priority and Sameday services will cease by midday. After this time, any undelivered freight will be held until delivery is possible and all outstanding pick-ups will be rescheduled.

National Road Freight Collections
Going forward, road freight pick-ups inbound to Queensland from all destinations except Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory will be suspended. Whilst TNT will continue to take your bookings, physical pick-up times will not be guaranteed and we will update you regularly as to expected pick-up times.

National Priority and Sameday Collections
Whilst road networks continue to be severely affected in the south east Queensland and northern New South Wales region, TNT’s Priority and Sameday networks continue uninterrupted except for in Brisbane, Bundaberg, Toowoomba and surrounding areas where we currently have limited pick-up and delivery capabilities.

If you have urgent freight bound for Queensland we encourage you to send it through our Priority or Sameday networks to ensure delays are minimised.

Please note, TNT continues to monitor our operational capabilities on a regular basis. We are making every effort to ensure our networks are re-established as rapidly as possible and we apologise for the ongoing disruption. With the situation worsening, TNT’s thoughts remain with the people of Queensland.

One Response to “TNT Service Update – Queensland Flood Disaster”

  1. Dear Valued Customer,

TNT Service Update – Queensland Flood Disaster
    Tuesday, 11 January 2011

Ongoing rain and worsening flood conditions continue to disrupt TNT’s road network in south east Queensland, leading to service delays throughout the State.

Currently all Brisbane and Sunshine coast based Priority, Road, International and Sameday operations have been shut down and all major road arterials to the north of Caboolture and the north-west of Toowoomba are cut.

As a result of the above, there will be no pick-ups or deliveries in Brisbane until further notice and we expect delays throughout the Queensland road network to continue for some days.
Freight inbound to Brisbane will continue to be collected, however, ongoing service interruptions are expected. Any undelivered freight will be held in TNT depots and delivered as soon as possible.
Operations will resume as soon as the situation allows. For regular updates please see our website at http://www.tnt.com.au.

TNT’s thoughts remain with the victims of this disaster.

    Warm Regards,

    Mark Hamilton
    Director, Sales & Marketing
